This privacy policy applies to all applications ("Apps") developed and published by DuttLabs ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Dr. Shankar Dutt. This policy covers the following apps:

Our Privacy Commitment

At DuttLabs, privacy isn't just a feature—it's a core principle. We believe your personal data belongs to you, and we've designed all our apps with this belief at their foundation.

The short version: We don't collect, store, or sell your personal data. Your information stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

What Data Do Our Apps Collect?

Data Stored Locally

All content you create in our apps (journal entries, notes, photos, reminders, settings, etc.) is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync in any of our apps, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data is:

  • Stored in your private iCloud container
  • Encrypted by Apple
  • Accessible only to you and devices signed into your Apple ID
  • Not accessible to DuttLabs

We do not operate any servers that store your data. All sync happens directly between your devices through Apple's infrastructure.

What We Don't Collect

DuttLabs apps do NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or fingerprints
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Crash reports (unless you explicitly send them to us)
  • Any data for advertising purposes

Third-Party Services

Apple Services

Our apps integrate with Apple services as follows:

  • iCloud: Optional sync using your Apple ID (CloudKit)
  • HealthKit: Some apps may integrate with Apple Health with your explicit permission. Health data is never transmitted to DuttLabs.
  • App Store: Apple handles all purchases and subscriptions. We receive anonymized sales data but no personal information about you.

No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising

We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar services). We do not display advertisements in any of our apps and do not work with any advertising networks.

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. DuttLabs does not have access to your payment information. For information about how Apple handles payment data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Since we don't collect your data, there's nothing for us to retain. Your data remains on your device and/or in your iCloud account until you choose to delete it.

To delete your data:

  • Local data: Delete the app from your device
  • iCloud data: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage and delete the app's data

Children's Privacy

Our apps do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any users, this applies to users of all ages. Some of our apps (such as ChoreChamp and BabyLog) are designed for family use but do not collect or transmit data about children.

Data Security

While we don't store your data on our servers, we take app security seriously:

  • Local data is stored in the app's sandboxed container, protected by iOS security
  • iCloud data is encrypted using Apple's security infrastructure
  • Apps that handle sensitive data (like MindVault) offer additional local encryption options

Your Rights

Because we don't collect your data, traditional data rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are exercised directly on your device and iCloud account. You have complete control over your data at all times.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Posting a notice in the affected apps

Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
